Talents For Christ (TFC) competition gives teens the opportunity to meet other teens who are serving the Lord across the country. Encourage your teens to be part of something bigger than themselves by registering them for TFC. Whether they compete for a scholarship or in an open (non scholarship) catergory, TFC will help your students develop skills for life! God has equipped each teen to serve Him; TFC can be used to “jump start” and refine those talents. A variety of categories for individuals and group are available–something for everyone in your youth group!

Bring your youth group on to nationals and enjoy all Chicago has to offer! Encourage them to continue serving by coupling the competition with a missions trip! Contact Scott Greening for different outreach opportunities.

ELYRIA, Ohio—John Greening introduced the 2009 Talents For Christ winners with a bit of encouragement to all who participated.

“Our greatest desire, while we are happy to pass along some awards today and the possibility of scholarship money, is that our students will study to show themselves approved to minister in their own churches and across the world,” Greening said.

States Readying for National TFC Competition

Students across the U.S. are participating at State TFC Competition during the months of March and April, with the opportunity for winners to advance to the National Competition to be held at First Baptist Church in Elyria, Ohio, during the 2009 GARBC Conference. National open (non-scholarship) competition takes place on Wednesday, June 24, for both group and individual open competitors. National scholarship competition follows on Thursday, June 25. For youth groups who would like to compete at the national open competition but their state did not offer group competition, their group can still compete at nationals. Do you have teens in your church who would like to attend Bible college but are lacking the funds? One source of funding that is available to all churches in the GARBC is the Talents For Christ (TFC) scholarship program. Students may compete for state and national scholarships in a wide variety of musical, teaching, and speaking categories. Urge your teens to sign up—but hurry, registration deadline for the TFC scholarship competition is March 2nd.
