For more than 50 years the Lord has used the GARBC’s Talents For Christ program to equip students for ministry in their local churches. The participating colleges and universities have always been a large part of TFC by providing scholarships to the students who win first or second place in the state and national competitions.
We are pleased to announce that two new schools have agreed to participate in the TFC program: Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, and Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, Wisconsin. Both of these institutions offer quality Christian liberal arts degrees with a strong Bible emphasis and full accreditation. These two schools, along with the other participating institutions—Appalachian Bible College, Clarks Summit University, Piedmont International University, and Shasta Bible College—provide students with a variety of options to receive an excellent education.
As a church, help equip your teens for a lifetime of service both academically and through the development of their talents. Plan to compete in Talents For Christ, and plan a trip with your teens to check out the participating colleges for consideration as they are going through the application process.
State TFC competitions will take place in March and April. The national competition will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the GARBC Conference in Fishers, Indiana. Make plans now to be involved in TFC this year to help develop your ministry talents and have the potential for winning valuable scholarships.
